Pocket-size device can test heart attacks

Device has been developed to test for heart attacks

A heart attack occurs when one or more of your coronary arteries become blocked. About 47% of heart attacks occur outside of hospitals and caused over 17.7 of deaths in 2015.

Emil Katz founder and CEO of Novamed, a life science company that makes medical products, has developed a device to test for heart attacks in advance. Testing for a heart attack can be very expensive and the longer a heart attack goes undetected, the greater the damage of the victim’s heart.

SensAHeart, this news Israeli made-home test will enable patients to find quicker and easier detection. Heart attacks involve a variety of symptoms a couple of days before: shortness of breath, chest pain, and nausea. The test involves a single drop of blood from the patient’s finger and it is then placed for a test.

The test is available in Europe and in Israel and it will only cost $10 to $20 per test! Professionals will be the only ones who will be able to use the test. Katz hopes that these restrictions will be eased and that this product ill be seen in public spaces, medicine cabinets and even airplanes!
