The <strong>robot prototype<\/strong> is small enough to <strong>move<\/strong> around in a <strong>stomach<\/strong> or <strong>urinary<\/strong> system. It is therefore used for <strong>improving<\/strong> <strong>medical<\/strong> use, for instance <strong>delivering<\/strong> <strong>drugs<\/strong> to a target in the <strong>human body<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The robot is made out of an <strong>elastomer<\/strong> <strong>rubber<\/strong>, which is filled with many <strong>magnetic<\/strong>, <strong>small particles<\/strong>. The main <strong>goal<\/strong> for this robotis to put it into a <strong>patient&rsquo;s<\/strong> <strong>digestive<\/strong> <strong>system<\/strong> and make it <strong>accessible<\/strong> to places where we <strong>humans<\/strong> do <strong>not have access<\/strong>. One the main function of the robot is to <strong>deliver<\/strong> a <strong>cargo<\/strong> inside the body, which could be <strong>drugs of course<\/strong>. The only way to do that would be to have a <strong>small pocket<\/strong> in the robot that only <strong>opens<\/strong> that <strong>experts can control<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This <strong>caterpillar-inspired robot<\/strong> is the same <strong>size<\/strong> as the grain of <strong>rice<\/strong>! Today, the robot has only been <strong>tested in artificial stomach model and chicken tissue<\/strong>.
