    Do not send generic CVs<\/strong>.\u00a0Tailoring the CV to the position you are applying for is becoming more crucial today. Here are the reasons why. One of the impacts of modern technologies on the recruitment process is the Applicant Tracking System which tends to be broader used also in 2018. Usually big companies apply it to pre-screen the hundreds of applications they get on daily basis. On the other hand, the recruitment staff or hiring managers will not spend more than 2 minutes reviewing your CV, so it must give the right message and be to the point.<\/p>\n

    How to customize your CV to the position you are applying for?<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Part 1:<\/strong> Read<\/strong> the job<\/strong> description<\/strong> carefully and understand<\/strong> it well. Make sure you understand<\/strong> the objective<\/strong> of the position and\u00a0identify the keywords<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This could be a result that ATS will not short-list your resume.<\/p>\n

    Use the\u00a0important keywords several times<\/strong>\u00a0in your resume . For examples if it is a sales role make sure to use the word \u00ab\u00a0sales\u00a0\u00bb in several parts of your resume if possible.<\/p>\n

    Show your added value<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    While you prepare your CV, focus<\/strong> not only on the job description<\/strong> but also on the company<\/strong> you are applying for<\/strong>. Make a good<\/strong> research<\/strong> of the company, its values<\/strong> and organisational<\/strong> culture<\/strong>. Inform yourself about its products and services and check the profiles of company\u2019s leadership team. Then ask yourself<\/strong>: how can you fit to this picture<\/strong>? and how can you contribute to the company<\/strong>? In your CV and cover letter make sure to share<\/strong> your certain<\/strong> value<\/strong> you would bring to the organisation<\/strong> and how you could make a difference<\/strong> for the company. Remember companies hire not only because you can do the job but\u00a0because you can fit into the organisational culture<\/strong>\u00a0and offer added value<\/strong> to the company.<\/p>\n

    Include relevant content and keep it simple<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n

    Your CV should be clearly presented<\/strong>. It must include your personal<\/strong> data<\/strong>, skills<\/strong>, professional<\/strong> experiences<\/strong> and education<\/strong>. You may include also a personal statement<\/strong>, interests and references<\/strong>. Make a detailed skill summary<\/strong>. Put all the relevant soft and hard skills<\/strong> in bullet points. Make sure to list<\/strong> all the relevant professional experiences<\/strong>. I recommend to make a short description of tasks and achievements under each position. For example\u00a0(as a sales representative I reached my target to X% or raised the turnover of my region to Y%).<\/strong><\/p>\n

    The information in your CV should be simple<\/strong> to understand<\/strong> – do not use complex words<\/strong>. Do not make it too long<\/strong> and do not<\/strong> go into much details<\/strong> – in the end you should leave a certain room<\/strong> for curiosity<\/strong> for the hiring managers<\/strong> in order to get to know you in person, in order words to invite you to the interview<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
