With today&rsquo;s <strong>technology<\/strong> we have access to\u00a0a wide variety of\u00a0<strong>services<\/strong>. For example instead of making an appointment by calling a doctor, you can just chat with a <strong>bot<\/strong> on your phone and ask them\u00a0for help.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>AI<\/strong> in the <strong>Healthcare <\/strong>and <strong>Pharma industry<\/strong> could help <strong>patients<\/strong> with their plans and help <strong>physicians<\/strong> find better <strong>treatment<\/strong> <strong>plans<\/strong> <span id=\"js-intext-string-0\" class=\"selectable\">(The Medical Futurist, 2018).\u00a0 In the article below we will explore\u00a05 different AI applications.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #b69c9c;\"><strong>Snatchbot<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/snatchbot.me\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Snatchbot<\/a>&lsquo;s mission is to make <strong>Chatbots<\/strong> <strong>accessible<\/strong> to more <strong>people<\/strong> and <strong>enterprises<\/strong> <strong>simply<\/strong>, <strong>quickly<\/strong>, and <strong>cost-effectively<\/strong>. But before\u00a0knowing how Snatchbot has revolutionised the <strong>Healthcare<\/strong> industry,\u00a0we need to understand what a <strong>chatbot<\/strong> is? A <strong>Chatbot<\/strong> is a <strong>computer programme<\/strong> you can talk to, through messaging apps, chat windows, or even by voice. The <strong>Chatbot<\/strong> replies using that same <strong>application<\/strong> and it creates a <strong>back and forth conversation<\/strong>. This enables patients to speak with bots about their <strong>personal issues<\/strong>. These bots are able to access data and respond to <strong>patients&rsquo; requests<\/strong> by connecting with <strong>healthcare<\/strong> <strong>professionals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #b69c9c;\"><strong>IBM Watson Health\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ibm.com\/watson\/health\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">IBM Watson Health<\/a> partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jnj.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Johnson &amp; Johnson<\/a> to enhance the <strong>Patient Athlete Programme<\/strong>. It is an <strong>AI cloud-based system<\/strong> capable of processing high volumes of data and offers. Watson health <strong>accelerates<\/strong> the speed of <strong>innovation<\/strong> for patients by helping people lead healthier lives. It is a <strong>computing project<\/strong> that enables more natural interactions between <strong>physicians<\/strong>, <strong>data<\/strong> and <strong>electronic medical records<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #b69c9c;\"><strong>Robotic Surgery\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Robotic surgery<\/strong> is a type of <strong>minimally<\/strong> <strong>invasive surgery<\/strong>. The<span style=\"color: #333333;\"> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.davincisurgery.com\/da-vinci-surgery\/da-vinci-surgical-system\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>da Vinci<\/strong><\/a> <\/span>for example\u00a0is the name of a <strong>surgical robot<\/strong> which guides surgeons while performing surgery on patients. It includes a <strong>magnified vision system<\/strong> which gives surgeons a 3D HD view of the inside of the patient&rsquo;s body. These robots are also\u00a0able to <strong>bend and rotat<\/strong>e far greater than the human hand. This enables the surgeons&rsquo; hand movements to be translated into smaller and precise movements. Overall, <strong>robotic surgery<\/strong> includes a number of benefits such as: <strong>less trauma<\/strong> on body, <strong>minimal scarring<\/strong>, and <strong>faster recovery<\/strong> time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #b69c9c; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong>Doc.ai<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">DeBrouwer founded <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scanadu.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Scanadu<\/a>, a personal <strong>medical scanner company<\/strong>, came out with \u00ab\u00a0<strong>robodctor<\/strong>\u00a0\u00bb called <strong>doc.ai<\/strong>. This application takes away one task from doctors with <strong>artificial intelligence<\/strong>. It <strong>interprets lab results<\/strong> such as blood test, genetic tests and then gradually add different kinds of tests. Instead of a patient going to the doctor to find out his lab results, he\/she will be able to <strong>converse with a robot<\/strong> on an app. Furthermore, if the patient needs a doctor, the bot will refer him\/her to a human doctor.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: 14pt; color: #b69c9c;\"><strong>Building Bionic Hands<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most limb replacements struggle to <strong>mimic human gestures<\/strong>. However, after years of engineering, a new <strong>bionic hand<\/strong>\u00a0named\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/bebionic.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">bebionic<\/a>,<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>has the potential to change that. The prosthetic hand includes a <strong>camera fitted on it and takes a picture of the objects in front of it<\/strong>. This asses the hand in seeing the shape and size of the objects and enabling to move correctly. Therefore, it shows\u00a0how <strong>machines are far better than humans<\/strong> in making muscle memory calculations, so let&rsquo;s take advantage of it!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Overall,\u00a0<strong>artificial intelligence<\/strong>\u00a0has lot of potential. Within the next couple of years, A.I. will<strong>\u00a0revolutionise<\/strong>\u00a0our daily lives including medicine.
