They tend to <strong>pause between each move<\/strong>. This is why when we think of a robot we think of moving in a <strong>\u00ab\u00a0robotic\u00a0\u00bb fashion with some kind of a \u00ab\u00a0tic\u00a0\u00bb<\/strong>. Therefore, it is very difficult to make a robot capable of moving with smooth movements.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Researchers<\/strong> at <a href=\"http:\/\/engineering.columbia.edu\/news\/hod-lipson-lifelike-robots\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Columbia Engineering<\/a> have solved this issue by creating<strong> soft robots. <\/strong>These robots will have<strong> actions and movements similar to the human body<\/strong>. They have developed a <strong>3D-printable synthetic muscle<\/strong> with artificial active tissue.\u00a0 Robots equipped with these muscles will perform in a\u00a0<strong>human-like-manner<\/strong> and <strong>outperform human strengths<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Each of these muscles consists of a <strong>sealed bag filled with air or fluid<\/strong>. When the pressure inside the bag is reduced using an electric pump, the whole structure <strong>collapses and contracts<\/strong>.\u00a0These muscles are much stronger than those of humans and can <strong>lift<\/strong> up to <strong>1,000 times their own weight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This will enable the robot to expand and contract like real muscles do, the further the extension the greater the strength.
